Curio Wellness Launches Patient Assistance Program

A Maryland cannabis company is working to help ease patients’ financial burdens when purchasing medical cannabis.

Baltimore-based Curio Wellness today announced a new program that offers in-state patients more than $40,000 in gas gift cards based on qualifying purchases.

Curio says it created the program to offset the rising costs of consumer goods to ensure patients have continuing access to medical cannabis.

Curio encourages patients to consolidate dispensary trips to reduce fuel costs and save money.

According to Curio, average patient purchases have consistently declined over the past four months, and there is currently no end in sight to the economic hardships.

“We know that one of the barriers to accessing healthcare and medicine is transportation, and we want to ease the burden many of our loyal patients are experiencing right now,” says Curio Co-Founder Wendy Bronfein. “No one should have to choose between paying for medicine or other daily living expenses, and with the aftermath of COVID, inflation, and the war in Ukraine, it’s affecting our patients’ ability to afford their medical cannabis.”

Starting today, Curio says it will provide patients with $10 or $25 Royal Farms gas cards at select Maryland dispensaries.

The program will continue as long as supplies last.

At launch, the program is available at Curio Wellness (2060A York Road, Timonium, MD 21093), Green Point Wellness (116 Washington Blvd, Laurel, MD 20707), and Green Point Wellness (823a Elkridge Landing Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090).

Curio says it remains committed to the welfare of patients who have relied on Maryland’s medical cannabis program to treat their chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, glaucoma, PTSD, and other conditions since 2017.
