Greenhouse and Ubaked Announce Pot For Plasma Blood Drive

A Michigan dispensary is teaming up with an edible company to help increase blood and plasma donations.

Greenhouse of Walled Lake today announced a partnership with Ubaked Cannabis Edibles of Burton offering free pre-roll joints to people over 21 who provide proof of donating blood or plasma.

Greenhouse is Oakland County’s first fully-licensed medical and adult-use cannabis dispensary.

According to Greenhouse, Michigan and the rest of the United States are currently in the worst blood and plasma shortage in more than ten years.

Greenhouse says the American Red Cross and the Michigan Association of Blood Banks are pleading with people for blood and plasma donations.

Greenhouse of Walled Lake Founder Jerry Millen says Michigan and the rest of the country continues to be in crisis, and asks people to donate blood or plasma at a convenient site.

“Their generous donations may allow someone to have a surgery or even save their life,” says Millen. “POT FOR PLASMA is our way of rewarding our old customers and new customers for giving back to the community. In fact, I will be donating my blood and plasma as well.”

Greenhouse says no purchase is necessary to receive the free pre-roll joints, just a sticker or Band-Aid on the arm as proof of donation.

In 2021, Greenhouse ran a Pot for Shots promotion, where the dispensary gave away more than 30,000 pre-roll joints to anyone who showed proof of COVID vaccination.

The Pot for Plasma blood drive begins on Tuesday, January 18.

The Greenhouse of Walled Lake address is 103 E Walled Lake Dr, Walled Lake, MI 48390.
