A California cannabis product company has received an award for its cannabinoid delivery innovations in its cannabidiol (CBD) formulations.
On Wednesday, San Diego-based Impact Naturals announced that it had received the Best in Show/Dr. John MacKay Award for Best Scientific Advancements in the CBD Industry at the CBD Expo West in Los Angeles.
Impact Naturals focuses its research and development efforts on creating next-generation hemp-derived CBD and minor cannabinoid formulations.
The company received the award for its Chylosoma capsule formulation, which significantly increases cannabinoid bioavailability.
Dr. MacKay says he chose Impact Naturals for the award based on their innovative work in creating formulations that bypass the liver.
“They’re breaking new ground by using long-chain triglycerides to take advantage of the lipid transport system, thereby boosting both absorption and speed of onset for their products,” says Dr. MacKay. “I look to reward innovative science-based work in the hemp and cannabis field, and I will be watching to see what they produce next.”
Dr. MacKay is CEO and founder of Synergistic Technology Associates, a boutique consulting firm for natural product extraction and analytical testing.
In June, he founded the Dr. John MacKay Institute of Extraction Technology, which focuses on botanical education.
Making an Impact
Impact Naturals says the 2021 CBD Expo West was its first in-person trade event and one of the most-attended shows in the cannabis and CBD industry.
The company released its line of CBD capsule products, Revive, Restore, and Rest, in September 2021 after having undergone research and development since 2019.
Recognizing the value of the new award from an expert in its field, Impact Naturals CEO Vassili Kotlov says the company is proud to have created a best-in-class product.
