Wine Industry Network Hosts 3rd Annual Wine & Weed Symposium

The Healdsburg-based Wine Industry Network hosted their third annual Wine & Weed Symposium on August 8 at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country in Santa Rosa, California.

More than 500 professionals from wine and cannabis industries were in attendance to explore how adult-use marijuana legalization has impacted wine and review developments between the two industries over the past year.

More than 40 companies were represented at the event to showcase new products and services.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery CEO Corey Beck was on hand to deliver the keynote address and share insights from his more than twenty years of experience in the wine industry and possible collaborations between wine and cannabis.

“The reason this conference continues to grow in popularity is because we have outstanding speakers,” said Wine Industry Network president and CEO George Christie. “We’re tackling a topic where there’s a tremendous amount of curiosity and things are evolving so quickly between these two industries that we’re never out of things to talk about. Next year will be even better.”

Low-dose edible company, Garden Society offered attendees a chance to participate in a cannabis sensory experience where they were able to examine cannabis plants, smell identifiers in different strains, and taste foods with similar terpene profiles.

Wine & Weed Symposium attendees also had the opportunity to take the Sonoma County Experience Tour for a behind-the-scenes visit to CannaCraft, the Solful Dispensary, the Barrel Brothers Brewing Company, and the Francis Ford Coppola Winery.

At the conclusion of the Symposium, attendees were invited to experience the Terpenes and Terroir, a crop-to-kitchen dining experience hosted by TSO Elevated Events, The Herb Somm, and the C2K Community at Gary Farrell Winery.
