Denver-based Dixie Brands Inc. has announced a partnership with popular New York iced tea maker Arizona Beverages to manufacture, distribute, and sell THC-infused products.
The two companies did not reveal what type of products they may make through the collaboration, though drinks are a distinct possibility.
Under the terms of a letter of intent (LOI) that the two companies signed on Friday, August 2, Dixie will handle the development, formulation, manufacturing, and distribution aspects of the new products while Arizona will direct brand and product design through its affiliated entity, Herbal Enterprises, LLC.
“The cannabis market is an important emerging category, and we’ve maintained our independence as a private business to be positioned to lead and seize generation-defining opportunities exactly like this one,” said Arizona Chairman Don Vultaggio. “The cannabis category is an ideal space to bring the flavor and fun of AriZona into new and exciting products, and we selected Dixie Brands as our partner to bring these products to market after touring their best in class manufacturing facilities, and spending considerable time building a strong relationship with their management.”
Unless the companies agree to another date in writing, they have forty-five days from the signing of the LOI to complete definitive agreements, including a licensing arrangement allowing Dixie the right to use Arizona trademarks, brands, and other required intellectual properties in conjunction with their own formulation, manufacturing, and distribution operations.
The initial partnership is set to last three years, with an option to renew for two more years twice.
