A multi-state cannabis operator has completed its acquisition of an Ohio dispensary.
On Wednesday, Ascend Wellness Holdings, Inc. (AWH) announced the closing of its acquisition of Ohio Cannabis Clinic (OCC), located in Coshocton.
AWH says OCC, located at 23024 Co Road (suite 1), will benefit from its proximity to major thoroughfares.
The dispensary is less than 90 minutes from major Ohio cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland.
OCC customer offerings include cannabis flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, and topical products.
“Ohio is a key focus of expansion for our Ascend brand given its rapidly-maturing market and near-term potential for adult-use,” says AWH CEO Abner Kurtin. “We are thrilled to officially add a second Ascend location to our Ohio retail portfolio and look forward to continued growth in the state as we further secure our position in the most attractive U.S. cannabis markets.”
Ohio currently has 56 dispensaries to serve the more than 186,000 registered medical cannabis patients in the state.
Furthering brand awareness and expanding medical cannabis access, AWH says Oshocton is a key addition to its portfolio as it continues its expansion across Ohio.
AWH previously announced its acquisition of BCCO, LLC, which operates a medical cannabis dispensary in Carroll under the Ohio Provisions retail brand.
AWH says it plans to migrate the Ohio Provisions and OCC brands to the Ascend brand.
The company also owns a cultivation facility in Monroe and has entered into an agreement with Marichron Pharma, LLC to acquire its processing facility there, pending regulatory approval.
