The first annual Bellingham Budfest will be taking over the Zuanich Point Park in Bellingham Washington on Sunday, July 14 from noon until 9:00 in the evening.
The festival will feature seven live bands, eight silent disco DJs, more than 50 vendor booths, and five educational panels where attendees can hear from experts on a variety of cannabis topics.
The educational panels, which are sponsored by Confidence Analytics, will be moderated by Cannabis and Social Policy Center founder and executive director, Dr. Dominic Corva.
“By focusing on community, tourism, and economic activity, the mission of Bellingham Budfest is to normalize and legitimize cannabis culture’s place in society,” says Budfest founder Stacy Bloch. “This is the right time, and Bellingham is the right place to move the cannabis industry’s image into the future.”
Hungry attendees looking for a bite to eat during the festival will be able to sample from the variety of food vendors who will have vegetarian and vegan options available as well as standard fare.
Vice Bong Apetit cannabis chef contestant Unika Noiel will also be presenting a cooking demo.
The Bellingham Budfest has partnered with the non-profit organization Sustainable Connections to be a Toward Zero Waste Festival and will be requiring vendors to use compostable and recyclable items only.
There will also be a water bottle refilling station to help reduce the sale of single-use plastic.
Local glass artists will have their work on display in a competition sponsored by the Whatcom Glass Gallery, and pieces from artists Bellingham and other places will be featured at the Budfest Art Bazaar.
