The CannabCo Pharmaceutical Corporation (CannabCo), located in Brampton, Ontario, announced on Tuesday an agreement with an unspecified technology provider to launch an advanced cannabis technology for the production of near-odorless cannabis.
CannabCo COO Mark Novak says that cannabis smoke is typically very heavy and can cause coughing, particularly for less experienced users.
The new technology, dubbed PURECANN, was originally developed for the medical cannabis market and designed to eliminate any harshness from smoking without losing other properties.
“Over the last two years we’ve observed product being processed with the system and we were given the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions for the refinement process,” said Novak. “We have been incredibly pleased with the results. In using this technology CannabCo will be able to produce a wide variety of products currently not in the marketplace, addressing a key market segment that does not exist.”
According to CannabCo, dry cannabis processed with PURECANN technology is less harsh, smokes smoother, and has virtually no odor when being stored or smoked,
CannabCo also says that PURECANN cannabis also leaves the user with less residual day-after effects sometimes associated with smoking marijuana.
“When we saw the technology in action and the end result, we realized there were a number of potential markets associated with the use of PURECANN,” said CannabCo President and CEO Mark Pellicane. “There are no third-party gadgets, or devices on the part of the user, the end result is pure cannabis that doesn’t smell.”
Once CannabCo has received the proper license from Health Canada, the company will have exclusive rights to use the PURECANN technology in production for both medical and adult-use markets.
