For decades Medicinal Michael Boris has been lighting up cannabis education through stand-up comedy and more.
One day, he’ll be performing on stage again. But for now, here’s an up-front seat to see what Medi Mike has to say about the cannabis industry’s legacy and future.
How did you get involved in the cannabis industry?
I was born into it. My parents were growers and dealers and it just came naturally. I started running a dispensary and once seeing health issues treated by cannabis there was no turning back.

What sets you apart in the cannabis industry?
I combine education and entertainment. I am the most booked cannabis personality in the world. Nine countries in the last two years, including the Boston freedom rally. I lead by example and hard work.
What life changes occurred when you entered the cannabis industry?
What about the cannabis industry and community do you love?
I hate what the industry has become after legalization but I love my community and the bond it brings.
Do you have any frustrations, hopes, fears as cannabis changes?
People have become lazy and chase clout more than they chase karma. Cannabis is about binging people together not the biggest dab.
What were some of your challenges getting started in cannabis?
Convincing people that education can be fun.
Where would you like to see yourself in the cannabis industry three years from now?
What does the future of cannabis look like to you?
Sad if people forget the heart of the community and trade it for clout chasing and Instagram fame.
How do you plan to make a positive difference in the cannabis industry?
I will continue to be a father figure to cannabis. Sometimes a buzzkill but a constant reminder that cannabis heals.
What makes you proud or gratified to be a part of the “legal” cannabis industry?
I was the first for many things, cannabis-themed syndicated FM radio, cannabis lifetime achievement awards, the first of the cannabis-themed MCs for mainstream mega-events: wrestling sesh, boxing sesh, etc.
Do you consume cannabis? If so, how do you prefer to consume?
I strictly dab.

Working in standup comedy is my heart. Remember your roots, cannabis is legal because people gave their freedom for us to creatively express ourselves. You wouldn’t be doing dabs on IG without fault unless a lot of nameless people spent their lives fighting for this generation’s freedom.
