Ignite Cannabis Co. is emerging in the cannabis and CBD markets with cannabis products available in dispensaries across California and hemp derived CBD products available online nationally. I tried Ignite’s Blood Orange CBD Drops, Unflavored CBD Drops, and Bubblegum CBD Vape Pen.
Ignite’s packaging is clean, masculine, and features a carbon fiber texture on the product boxes and CBD Drops bottles. I was thrown off that Ignite’s CBD drops were Prop 65 compliant, as in, they list a “Cancer & Reproductive Harm” warning on the box. I’ve seen this on smokeable products before, but not CBD drops. Ignite says they were instructed to add this to all of their CBD products in order to be “overly cautious.”
I have two main occasions where I reach for CBD. The first is when I’m uncomfortably high, (e.g., after eating too much of an edible.) THC can only bind to the CB1 receptors in your brain, which are responsible for psychoactive responses. CBD can bind to both CB1 and CB2 receptors, which are located throughout the body. Ingesting or vaping CBD can push THC off some of the CB1 receptors in your brain, thus lessening the degree of your high. Before trying Ignite’s Blood Orange CBD Drops, I got out a hybrid vape pen and took a few hits more than my usual. All in the name of science. The Blood Orange drops have a light citrus flavor which comes from natural Blood Orange flavoring. After about 20 minutes, I felt a little less high. I also tried the drops without cannabis in my system, but in those instances, I never noticed a difference.
I also use CBD when I know my dog, Beans, will get wound up. Beans is a mix of English Bull Terrier and Red Heeler; so he’s super affectionate, needy, and has an endless supply of energy. Giving CBD to Beans before friends come over, or if I have to leave him home alone, helps reduce his “situational anxiety.” Ideally.
Although Ignite’s CBD Drops aren’t marketed for dogs, they verified that the drops are indeed pet safe. The drops are composed of hemp-derived CBD which means that ingesting them will cause no psychoactive effects. I gave Beans a few low doses of Ignite’s Unflavored CBD Drops. Beans’ demeanor didn’t change when I gave him the Unflavored CBD Drops before having company over. I also gave him the Unflavored CBD Drops on two separate occasions when I went out for a few hours, leaving him to his own devices. On those occasions, he was calm and didn’t bark when I returned. To say he’s a vocal dog is an understatement, so his lack of barking was a testament to the drops’ efficacy.
Of course, I also tried the Unflavored CBD Drops for myself, which are quite nearly flavorless. Their ingredients, like Ignite’s other drops, contain MCT Hemp Oil and Stevia. All of their drops retail for $65, come in a 30mL bottle, and contain 1,000mg of CBD.
I liked that the CBD Drops have a calibrated glass dropper, allowing you to measure a dose accurately. One serving of Ignite CBD Drops is one mL. The only drawback I experienced with the CBD Drops is that it was impossible for me to pull a full milliliter in one go. To test if it was the packaging and not human error, I tried to pull a full mL of liquid with a different brand’s 30 mL dropper bottle and did so in the first try. Not a huge inconvenience, but the functionality could be improved.
Ignite’s CBD vapes retail for $45 and are broken down into three categories; Calm, Lucid, and Recharge. Calm flavors include Bubblegum and Lavender. Ignite’s most popular CBD product, the Blood Orange CBD disposable vape, as well as the Apple Berry vape, are both categorized as Lucid. The Recharge flavors include Tangerine, Tropical Fruit, and Spearmint, which won “Best CBD Vape Pen” at the Alaska Cannabis Cup earlier this year.
I tried the Bubblegum CBD Disposable vape, which certainly tastes true to its name. The vape hits impressively; it doesn’t take much of a pull to get a satisfying hit.
On the horizon for Ignite are additional strains of flowers, pre-rolls, vapes, and sauces for dabbing. Of their current cannabis products, Ignite says their vape cartridges are the most popular so far. They project that will likely “normalize to Flower and Vape sharing the lead.”

Ignite’s CEO, Dan Bilzerian, is like the Oprah of men who dream of having an entourage of flawless women, flashy vehicles, and an excess of firearms. Except, instead of surprising a studio audience with cars, he generously documents much if his extravagant life for voyeurs and maximalists alike. He reportedly bounces between his homes in Las Vegas and Bel Air and plans to release Ignite products in Nevada within the next month or two. When asked about the difference between the permitting processes of California and Nevada, Bilzerian told Candid Chronicle that Nevada is “very strict,” adding, “They won’t even allow my goat logo, so crazy!”
The goat logo he references is Ignite’s signature, a grey goat skull. Bilzerian has two pet goats, and honestly, I want to know if the goats are given CBD drops.
I wanted to see #JohnWick tonight, but didn’t want to leave my house. Thanks for sending me an advance screener pic.twitter.com/X2Ftg3Fs1a

Bilzerian told Candid Chronicle that he uses Ignite CBD products before bed. As far as getting high, Dan’s favorite strain is Diesel Cookies, Ignite’s Hybrid strain, and says he smokes every day, “usually pre or during workout, and then at night.”
