A multi-state cannabis company unveiled a massive edible to celebrate National Brownie Day and the launch of a new edible brand last week.
On Tuesday, December 7, Norwood, Massachusetts-based MariMed Inc. revealed a giant brownie, measuring three feet long by three feet wide by fifteen inches tall.
The 850lb brownie contained 20,000 milligrams of THC, enough to get 2,000 people high at 10 milligrams per dose.
Though a much larger size, the enormous edible was reminiscent of an 18,000-milligram brownie that the SuperBaked edibles brand brought to a Local Sesh cannabis event at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort in 2016.
MariMed unveiled its behemoth brownie to celebrate the launch of its new Bubby’s Baked edibles brand.
The company previously piloted the brand under the name Bourne Baking Co.
MariMed says Bubby’s bakes its brownies from scratch in small batches and infuses them with precisely-dosed full-spectrum cannabis.
“Bubby’s Baked fills a big hole in the edibles market that cannabis consumers crave—high quality, delicious baked goods that stay moist and chewy,” says MariMed CPO Ryan Crandall. “For many of us, homemade brownies were our first taste of cannabis-infused edibles. Bubby’s recreates and elevates that nostalgic experience, infusing full-spectrum, craft-quality cannabis into timeless recipes for a reliable high reminiscent of simpler times. Strategically, Bubby’s is part of our effort at MariMed to build a house of brands that meets different consumer needs across a diverse range of occasions.”
MariMed says Bubby’s edibles take inspiration from the traditional homemade cannabis brownie, using simple ingredients like flour, butter, sugar, and eggs, and no artificial flavors or preservatives.
In addition to brownies, Bubby’s 5-milligram cannabis-infused treats also come in chocolate chip and snickerdoodle varieties.
Bubby’s edible line, which is available in Massachusetts, including MariMed’s Panacea dispensary in Middleborough, will come to Delaware and Maryland dispensaries in early 2022.
