Philadelphia Police are investigating who is responsible for potentially cannabis-infused edibles making their way into a school.
Three students at Martha Washington Academics Plus School in West Philadelphia ingested Rice Krispie treats that police say may have been “laced with marijuana.”
Lee Whack of the Philadelphia School District says that a 7th-grade girl brought the edibles into school, then sharing them with two of her classmates.
The girls’ teacher noticed that they were lethargic after eating the Rice Krispie treats and reported it. One of the 7th graders felt sleepy after eating the treat, and the three girls were taken to the Children’s Hospital Emergency Room. The three students are in stable condition.
According to CBS6, a source says that the child’s mother bought the Rice Krispie treats that “sickened” the children.
It is unknown whether the child knew the edibles were cannabis-infused.
