There are several reasons to maintain a physicians recommendation in California and be a medicinal cannabis user.
1. You can possess up to 8 ounces vs. only up to 1 ounce for 21 and older
2. You can grow as much as you medically need vs. only six plants per household 21 and over
3. You can consume anywhere someone is allowed to smoke cigarettes, and there are only five places that you cannot smoke:

No smoking zones.

Within 1,000 feet of a school or youth facility, unless you are in a private residence)

In a motor vehicle that is operating.

While operating a boat.
-
On a school bus.
4. If you get the County Card under the Medical Marijuana ID Program, you will not have to pay the 15% tax.
