San Diego cannabis company, Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MMI) last week announced that the company had reached a significant milestone.
On Thursday, August 27, MMI revealed that the company had sold and shipped more than 1.6 billion milligrams of hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) since 2017.
MMI says that the milestone comes as CBD product sales have experienced a sharp increase, stating that four out ten consumers have planned to use CBD oil more frequently during the COVID-19 pandemic, and 15 percent of those consumers plan to use higher doses.
According to the company, more than 62 percent of Americans are familiar with CBD and CBD products.
MMI CEO Dr. Stuart Titus says the company has offered the highest potency CBD product available for a decade with its flagship product, Real Scientific Hemp Oil.
“We’ve seen international media coverage of our customers having positive experiences with our products for over half of a decade,” says Dr. Titus. “Many products on the market today use isolate forms of CBD, or contain no CBD at all, marketing themselves as ‘hemp oil.’ While we are glad to have such high demand for CBD products, we’re also proud to remain one of the highest quality CBD oils on the market.”
Company COO Blake Schroeder says that MMI continues to believe in a world where CBD and other cannabinoid-based products are part of the general population’s daily wellness routine.
While many new companies are entering the hemp CBD space, Schroeder points out that MMI’s portfolio of companies, which includes Kannaway and HempMeds, was the first to legally offer industrial hemp-derived CBD products.
MMI says that its products have remained popular with consumers as CBD awareness among the general public has increased and that approximately 33 percent of Americans have tried CBD products at least once.
