The legalization of cannabis has allowed for patients, who for many years have been silenced, to speak out about their experiences particularly in cancer treatment. Many claim to have cured their cancer diagnoses by using cannabis alone. Success story after success story surrounding cannabis as a cancer cure are popping up all over the internet daily as more and more people feel safe to be vocal about their experiences. This, however, has caused some confusion over whether THC or CBD is the cure. Mixed information on the topic is available with a simple internet search, but what is the true cancer killer cocktail? Many believe it is CBD only that will kill cancer, while others stand firm that THC must be present in order to attack the cancer cells. Without proper medical studies it is impossible to prove either side and until recently the federal government had no desire to study the medicinal effects of cannabis. A lack of proper education platforms has lead to this confusion. So how have these patients survived a death sentence?
Cannabis Oils are the cure according to many cannabis treatment cancer survors. Rick Simpson, the creator of RSO, a very concentrated form of cannabis oil, stands firm that CBD alone will not cure cancer and THC must be present in order to treat the disease. Patients report that RSO completely cures cancer having high amounts of THC and CBD present. THC is said to bind the cancer receptor cells and starve only the unhealthy cells whereas traditional treatments such as chemotherapy kill all cells both healthy and not in hope of also killing the cancer cells. So, the question remains, why are such invasive treatments still being used when there is proven success in natural medicines. The truth is that cannabis has been used by medical professionals for cancer treatment for longer than we realize. The difference is that they have used synthetic forms of THC to create a pharmaceutical grade medication given to patients to help with nausea. This opens a whole new flood of questions to why cannabis is still federally illegal and why synthetic forms are not.
Regardless of these unanswered questions, the fact remains that there are patient testimonials and living success stories proving the effectiveness of cannabis as a cure for cancer. Men and women who have outlived their doctor’s diagnosis and despite being given a timeframe for death are still with us. Not all stories are successful, and many have lost their lives too soon, therefore it is so important for survivors to make their stories known and educating others who are currently suffering. Without the proper education, many have not been given a true chance for survival, yet this gentle treatment is a far cry from the current medical treatments for the disease, offering pain management, the ability to eat and sleep as well as other positive side effects for its patients. With the recent announcement made by the Surgeon General urging cannabis be rescheduled for cannabis research, there may be an end for so many uncurable diseases not limited to cancer. This is a ray of hope for those who have survived by treating themselves with THC exposing the nation to what they have been saying for so many years.
