A multi-state cannabis company continues its Florida expansion by opening its 44th location.
On Thursday, Miami, Florida-based Ayr Wellness announced the opening of its newest dispensary in Pinellas Park.
Ayr opened its 43rd Florida dispensary in December.
The new dispensary features more than 2,700 square feet of retail space on what Ayr says is one of the most heavily-traveled routes in Pinellas County.
Pinellas County has a population of more than 900,000 people.
The new shop in Pinellas Park has six points of sale and features the full range of Ayr products, including Origyn Extracts and Secret Orchard Sun Gems.
The dispensary also carries Big Pete’s edibles and a selection of cannabis flowers and pre-rolls.
“We are thrilled with our progress to date in Florida, a market where we see tremendous upside and growth potential,” says Ayr Wellness CEO Jon Sandelman. “With 44 stores now open, at least 21 additional stores coming in prime locations in 2022, and significant improvements to our cultivation and production operations beginning to show in both quality and volume, Florida promises to be a significant driver to growth and shareholder value in quarters and years to come.”
In February 2021, Ayr purchased Florida-based Liberty Health Sciences and its 31 dispensaries across the state.
Since the purchase, Liberty Health Sciences has opened 13 additional locations, bringing the total to 44.
There are currently more than 658,000 patients enrolled in Florida’s medical cannabis program, which ranks third in the United States by total sales.
The Florida medical cannabis market, which BDSA estimates will grow to $2.6 billion by 2026, generated more than $1.23 billion in revenue in 2020.
