Bootleg Avocado To Host Food & Cannabis Event Series In NYC

Cannabis and cuisine are mingling in New York City this month as the first in a series of events focused on the culinary use of cannabinoids launches.

New York-based Bootleg Avocado LLC recently announced the series’ inaugural event, Bootleg Avocado Presents – State of the Union: Culinary + Cannabis, which is scheduled to take place on the evening of Thursday, February 27.

In addition to a presentation of valuable information, the event will offer networking opportunities for professionals working in food and cannabis and a chance to learn from business owners who have successfully introduced premium canna-friendly products into the market.

“Our mission is to bring together both industries and help facilitate partnerships, products and services that are sustainable and plant-based with an emphasis on high culinary and wellness,” says Bootleg Avocado owner Mario A. Rodriguez. “The companies showcased on the first panel check all those boxes. We are also trying to educate food professionals that are jumping into the cannabis space and vice-versa.”

Rodriguez says that he wants New York City or the Tri-State area to be the hub of what’s happening in food and cannabis, noting that there are a ton of talented underground chefs in the “food capital of the world.”

As host of the February 27 event, Rodriguez will provide the State of the Union address as an introduction to the current state of the cannabis industry, followed by a panel discussion featuring founders and CEOs of companies such as Kaneh Co., Pantry, and Cloud Creamery.

Topics of discussion will include personal stories from the panel about how they have grown their businesses, successes they have found, and their plans for the future growth of their companies.

After the panel and closing remarks, attendees are invited to network while sampling the latest hemp-infused wines from Castetter Sustainability Group and other items from local CBD-infused food brands.

Early bird tickets for the State of the Union: Culinary + Cannabis event are no longer available, but regular tickets can be purchased for $36 until February 21, and Last Call tickets are available for $49 via the Bootleg Avocado website.
