The California Bureau of Cannabis Control has announced three Cannabis Advisory Subcommittee meetings scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 27 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
The Subcommittee on Delivery will be meeting to discuss and possibly adopt recommendations on the topics of balancing local control and patient access, disclosure of premises addresses on receipts, and operating hours.
In the Subcommittee on Testing Laboratories meeting, Cannasafe President Aaron Riley and Sonoma Lab Works President Daniel Witt will be presenting “Cannabis Testing from an Industry Perspective,” covering topics such as quality and safety standards, testing regulation, enforcement issues, potency, and pesticides.
There will also be a discussion and possible action on recommendations related to material delivered in the informational presentation from Riley and Witt.
Executive Director of the Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation, Cat Packer will be presenting “Cannabis Equity Program in the City of Los Angeles” in the Subcommittee on Equity meeting.
Nicole Elliot, Senior Advisor on Cannabis at the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development will be presenting “The State of Equity.”
A discussion and possible action will also take place on various related topics such as state and local definitions of a social equity applicant, funding for social equity programs, and expunging criminal records related to cannabis.
Following the subcommittee meetings, a full committee meeting will take place at the Biltmore Hotel on Friday, June 28 which will include an informational presentation, “Tribal Participation in the Legal Cannabis Industry,” presented by Iilpay Nation of Santa Ysabel Executive Director, David Vialpando, and Attorney Mark A. Levitan.
The full committee will be reviewing recommendations made by the subcommittees on the previous day and deciding on whether to approve, modify, or reject.
There will be time during the three subcommittee meetings as well as the full committee meeting for public comment on items that are not discussed or included in the agendas.
