A California cannabidiol (CBD) company has unveiled two new products focused on rest and recovery.
On Tuesday, May 11, San Diego-based CV Sciences announced the launch of PlusCBD Calm and Sleep gummies, which the company says are formulated for healthy stress responses and sleep cycles to help people return to their regular routines.
Minding Health and Mental Wellness
Each gummy contains 10mg of sustainable hemp-derived CBD and neurologically active amino acids 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) and L-Theanine.
According to the company, 5-HTP is a direct precursor for serotonin synthesis, which can facilitate calmness and a positive mood.
Also found in green tea, L-Theanine is an amino acid that increases activity in the alpha frequency band, indicating that it relaxes the mind without inducing drowsiness.
PlusCBD gummies also contain melatonin, magnolia bark, and lemon balm, which CV Sciences says work together to support a healthy circadian rhythm.
Lemon balm, a citrusy-scented plant in the mint family that has shown potential as a sleep aid, is used in herbal medicines worldwide and contains compounds that support the gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurotransmitter system.
PlusCBD Calm and Sleep gummies do not contain artificial flavorings, additives, or sweeteners, ensuring a natural choice for health-conscious consumers.
“We are excited to expand our line of PlusCBD gummies to help even more consumers sleep and relax in the face of daily stressors that we encounter as we transition back to work and school,” says CV Sciences CEO Joseph Dowling. “Our Calm and Sleep gummies underscore the Company’s ongoing commitment to advancing the CBD industry through science-backed formulations.”
Backed by Research
CV Sciences says its new Calm and Sleep gummies are third-party tested to ensure appropriate levels of active ingredients that are backed by scientific research.
With a commitment to science, CV Sciences operates under two distinct business segments.
The first segment is a consumer product division that focuses on manufacturing, marketing, and selling CBD products.
The second segment is a drug development division focused on developing and commercializing “CBD-based novel therapeutics.”
In 2019, CV Sciences products made their way onto mainstream retailers’ store shelves under a retail distribution deal with Kroger.
CV Science products are now available at more than 7,300 retail locations in the United States.
The new PlusCBD Calm and Sleep gummies are available for purchase through the company website and will be available through other retailers later this year.
