Employment Seekers Flock To Cannabis Job Fair

The San Diego Cannabis Farmers Market (SDCFM) hosted a business event on Saturday, bringing together a wealth of cannabis industry professionals and a large crowd of employment hopefuls looking to navigate a career in legal marijuana.

With resumés and portfolios in hand, job seekers made their way in and out of the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley throughout the afternoon at SDCFM’s Cannabis and Hemp Job Fair and Business Mixer, networking with representatives from the many companies that were present and absorbing valuable information from the steady lineup of scheduled speakers.

Nug Life Radio Show host, emcee, and keynote speaker Michael Boris introduced the day’s roster of industry specialists and professionals who spoke on cannabis pest management, commercial cultivation, marijuana entertainment, education, and a variety of other related topics.

“Share your skill sets, share what you are great at,” said Candid Chronicle CEO Chris Williams as he spoke to the crowd about the transition from Prop 215 to Prop 64. “Share what you enjoy doing and find your niche in the industry. And with that, I can assure you that legacies will be built, income will be generated, friends will be made, and if we do it right, it will be for a long time.”

According to organizers, the weekend event connected nearly 2,500 people with the 43 cannabis industry companies that were represented there. Around 1,500 people pre-registered for the event.

“We are so excited to provide a platform for the community and the industry to interact,” organizer Jay Car told Candid Chronicle. “We are killing the negative stigma one resumé at a time.”

Organizers say that there is no official set date for a second SDCFM job fair but after the success of the first one, there is already another in the works.
