San Diego cannabis company, Medical Marijuana Inc. has announced that its South American subsidiary, HempMeds Brasil, will be hosting its third series of physician courses on cannabinoids.
The courses will be presented at the HempMeds Brasil headquarters in São Paulo on Monday, June 24, and Friday, June 28.
“Many doctors in Brazil have started to show genuine interest in CBD and the work that we are doing here,” says HempMeds Brasil Vice President Caroline Heinz. “We hope to further develop our ongoing relationship with Brazil healthcare professionals and provide them with the education and expertise they need to incorporate CBD into their practices.”
The purpose of the courses is to train physicians from a variety of specialties about potentials of cannabinoid treatments, simulate clinical studies, and discuss the principles of the human endocannabinoid system.
The courses will be taught by professionals from the medical community, including HempMeds Brasil Director of Medical Affairs Dr. Junior Gibello, Doctor of Biotechnology Gabriel Barbosa, and Doctor in Functional Medicine and Integrative Nutrition Ailane Araujo.
“In order to continue as a global leader in cannabis education, we must host events like these to bring doctors together and discuss the benefits of CBD,” says Medical Marijuana Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. “Regulatory bodies around the world are examining the safety and efficacy of CBD and doctors, such as those who are attending our events can help push those conversations forward.”
According to a report by New Frontier Data, medical cannabis in Brazil has the potential to benefit more than 3 million patients in the country and generate a total of $1.4 billion in annual revenue if the proper legislation were to pass.
