High Times To Hold First Oklahoma Cannabis Cup In Late August

It’s been more than 30 years since High Times held the first Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam in November of 1988.

Since then, the event has been held in California, Michigan, Colorado, and Washington following the passage of medical and adult-use cannabis laws.

High Times recently announced that Oklahoma would be the next legal state to host a Cannabis Cup event.

Oklahoma legalized the medicinal use of cannabis after voters approved Question 788 in June of 2018.

“We’re proud to bring Oklahoma City its first-ever Cannabis Cup event this summer, with prominent musical talent and hundreds of vendors including an array of brands across the cannabis landscape,” said High Times CEO Kraig Fox in a statement. “Events like the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup are integral in bringing together the local community of cannabis enthusiasts, medical users and brands in one place, while providing us with the ability to collaborate and connect with key leaders in the industry across the country.”

The event will take place at the Lost Lakes Amphitheater on August 24 and 25 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature a wide array of cannabis vendors as well as a lineup of musical acts headlined by Slightly Stoopid from Ocean Beach, California.

In accordance with state law, Cannabis Cup attendees who wish to enter the exhibitor village will need to have an in-state medical cannabis recommendation which takes 15 business days to be approved.

To receive a recommendation in time for the event, individuals must submit applications by the August 2 deadline.

Chronic Rx Solutions is currently offering a discount for recommendation-seekers who use the code HIGH TIMES.

Attendees who do not have a recommendation but are at least 18 years of age will be able to enter the event’s general area where the concert, water park, and food vendors will be located.
