No motive is known for the violence. This is the second fatal shooting at the 11001 Crenshaw Boulevard location. A man was shot to death in front of the dispensary in 2017, the murder is still unsolved.
The location was a liquor store at one time. According to the dispensary’s Weedmaps page, MX Club has been around since 2015, and customers have left reviews complaining of counterfeit products.
Detective Rodriguez told Candid Chronicle that he does not know if the dispensary is licensed, adding that the dispensary has not been closed down.
According to the Bureau of Cannabis Control’s license search, neither a permanent nor temporary cannabis dispensary license/permit is listed for the 11001 Crenshaw Boulevard building.
Alvarado’s family is seeking justice as detectives continue to search for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Inglewood police homicide detectives at 310-412-5246 or the PD’s anonymous tip line at 888-412-7463.
Candid Chronicle reached out to MX Club for comment. To date of publication, no response has been received.
