Two security guards were working a shift at the House of Zen dispensary in Detroit, Michigan early Saturday evening when they observed a suspicious individual standing near a vehicle belonging to one of them.
One of the guards remained near the front entrance of the dispensary while the other approached and confronted the man, instructing him to leave the premises. The suspect got into an older, two-toned Chevy Silverado and began shooting at the two security guards before fleeing northbound on Marlborough.
The 39-year-old officer guarding the door managed to avoid being hit by gunfire, but the 43-year-old confronting the suspect sustained a bullet wound to the chest and another in his right armpit.
The injured security guard was taken to a local hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.
The Detroit Police Department is still searching for the suspect, who is described only as being 5’9”, and are asking anyone with information to contact the fifth precinct at 1-313-596-5500 or Crime Stoppers Michigan at 1-800-773-2587
