Southeastern Grocers, Inc. (SEG) has announced that 152 of its Winn-Dixie and BI-LO grocery stores in Florida and South Carolina will begin selling a variety of cannabidiol (CBD) products ranging from topical care to supplements.
According to a Gallup poll, 14 percent of Americans say that they use CBD products to treat pain, anxiety, insomnia, arthritis, and other conditions.
SEG says that it strives to provide customers with the most relevant products as CBD’s favorability continues to rise.
“We are constantly evaluating potential new products that will provide our customers with the most relevant and up-to-date alternative treatment methods,” says SEG Chief Customer Officer Andrew Nadin. “With the growing mainstream acceptance of CBD-infused items across the United States, we will continue to diligently research additional ways to bring safe, high-quality products that can positively impact our customers’ lives.”
In addition to stocking CBD products in select stores, SEG also is a member of the Florida Hemp Council whose goal is to push the Florida hemp industry forward as leaders in the production of hemp and hemp products.
SEG says that it is working closely with the state of Florida to move the CBD industry forward and that adding unique products to its store shelves demonstrates the company’s commitment to doing so.
Winn-Dixie and BI-LO are the first conventional retailers in the Southeast to offer supplemental, topical, and pet forms of CBD products.
Customers are encouraged to contact or visit their local store to learn if CBD products are offered in their area.
