Sunshine, sports and cannabis. Could you have a better Saturday? Throw in an awesome group of people, and you have the 420Games. This is their second year on tour, bringing magic to 6 states. The driving force being to end the stigma of the “lazy stoner”. The 420Games introduced cannabis in a way that promoted a healthy lifestyle. Incorporating fitness, healthy food choices and cannabis knowledge.

Being greeted with early morning yoga, with Yogi Katie Martin of Stoned Hot Yoga, (affiliated with FlavRx) was the first indicator this would not be a lazy beach day. Exhibitors and participants eagerly joining in the excitement of this growing movement.

Participants and spectators walked through the gates to a street fair atmosphere: a wide variety of cannabis friendly booths, food trucks, music and even a BMX Show! All being key components to a good event, however it was the message that had drawn the crowd. Everyone in attendance eager to share and celebrate the normalization of the cannabis community.

Moving with the crowd to the marathon start line, was a fascinating stroll. Teams and individuals alike, showed up in costumes and matching uniforms. Proudly representing their involvement and support for the industry. Teaming up the benefits of cannabis and exercise, with information and knowledge. Making for an action packed family (kid) friendly event. Boasting top sponsors, allowing for affordable donations along the way. The L.A. 420Games showcased a lot of Southern California’s best and brightest. Friendly brand ambassadors were at each booth, ready to provide knowledge and samples. Products ranging from nutritional snacks, topical creams, CBD water, vape pens and more.

The excitement at the starting line was palpable and contagious. The passion and energy bubbling over into a group laughter of sorts, as they began the 4.20 mile fun run…..all walks and wheels of life together, moving in unity. It was beautiful. At the finish line athletes were greeted by Xternal brand products Topical Roll On. One of their products attributed to treating NFL greats, the likes of Kyle Turley among many others. With many forms of full plant medicines, they are a must in any cannabis friendly environment. Working diligently to implement the use of cannabis meds, in everyday regimens.

The BMX Pro’s were an incredible force. Jesse Puente, Dustin Mac Carty and Alex Landero are all incredibly gifted athletes, with skill beyond compare. Thrilling the crowd, with a mix of flat land and aerial tricks. A definite highlight to any event.

Weedmaps was present to share their personal growth in conquering the International community. Now in Toronto and Barcelona, they may very well be one of the fastest growing cannabis information sources we have. CEO Doug Francis and Company President Chris Beals plan to keep moving across the globe. Expanding the reach as far as needed.

Lagunitas Beer Garden was a much appreciated destination. With a variety of brews to refresh the hot crowd, they brought it to the masses….with smiles on their faces. Providing the after party with food and drink, they kept the party going all day and night.

There was a huge presence of small privately-owned businesses as well. The 420Games gives the business and customer a more intimate platform to understand each other’s needs. All parts of California was in attendance brought together for games, fun, and making a difference  in our community and industry alike.
