Canadian cannabis producer, Aurora Cannabis Inc. has announced the kickoff of a nationwide search to find the country’s top budtender.
Aurora is holding the “Canada’s Top Budmaster“ competition to recognize and honor the men and women in dispensaries across the country who continue to help grow the cannabis community by educating people about cannabis and responsible use in daily life.
“We wouldn’t be here today as an industry, and as a company, without the cannabis advocates who fought to break boundaries and challenge perceptions,” said Aurora CEO, Terry Booth. “Aurora thanks the cannabis leaders of the past, and we applaud the work of budtenders everywhere who are educating Canadians on cannabis, and helping to grow a strong and long-lasting future for the cannabis movement.”
The competition will include a series of live and online events where budtenders’ knowledge and expertise will be put to the test as they showcase their understanding of product categories and formats as well as cultivar traits and histories.
Contestants must also demonstrate their customer service skills and show how they contribute to the community and culture.
Anyone interested in participating in the competition must register online before the deadline on June 1, 2019.
One finalist will be awarded when Canada’s Top Budmaster’s Competition ends on October 17, 2019, the first anniversary of Canadian cannabis legalization.
