An American multi-state cannabis company has opened a new dispensary in Pennsylvania.
On Friday, December 31, 2021, Miami, Florida-based Ayr Wellness announced the opening of its newest medical cannabis dispensary in Bryn Mawr.
In December, Ayr opened its 43rd Florida dispensary in The Villages retirement community in Eustis.
Ayr’s newest Pennsylvania dispensary is the company’s eighth location in the Commonwealth.
Ayr says the 3,000 square-foot dispensary continues the company’s presence in Pennsylvania’s burgeoning medical cannabis market.
Located at 712 Lancaster Avenue, the dispensary is close to five major colleges.
Ayr says Bryn Mawr is near the center of an affluent suburban village group known as the Main Line that stretches west from Philadelphia toward Malvern.
“The Pennsylvania medical marijuana market continues to show excellent growth, and we are excited to be opening our eighth affiliated dispensary in the Commonwealth,” says Ayr CEO Jonathon Sandelman. “We consistently strive to deliver the highest quality product at an accessible price and look forward to bringing more of our branded products to the Pennsylvania patients in 2022.”
According to Ayr, the new dispensary will have nine points of sale and feature company-branded products like Origyn Extracts, Seven Hills, and Revel flowers.
The dispensary will also stock various third-party brands from sources throughout Pennsylvania.
Ayr says the Bryn Marw dispensary is the fifth of six potential dispensaries opened by wholly-owned subsidiary CannaTech PA LLC.
Subsidiary PA Medicine operates three dispensaries in the State College, Bloomsburg, and Selinsgrove Central Pennsylvania towns.
According to Ayr, there are currently more than 680,000 patients in Pennsylvania’s medical cannabis market, along with 140 licensed dispensaries and 29 licensed cultivators and processors.
BDSA expects annual statewide medical cannabis sales in Pennsylvania to exceed $1 billion in 2024.
