Carl’s Jr To Test Cannabis-Infused Burger On April 20

The international springtime cannabis holiday known as 4/20 is only a matter of days away, and one Colorado restaurant is looking to celebrate the day by rolling out fast food’s first cannabis-infused burger.

On Saturday, April 20, the ever-bold fast food chain known as Carl’s Jr will be unveiling the Rocky Mountain High: Cheeseburger Delight, a CBD-infused hamburger that will be available for one day only at a single location in Denver.

The double-patty sandwich will feature pickled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, Crisscut fries, and variation of Carl’s Jr’s Santa Fe Sauce containing hemp-derived CBD oil.

According to Business Insider, Carl’s Jr has been developing the CBD-infused burger since they launched the Beyond Meat vegan burger in January.

“The new Rocky Mountain High: Cheeseburger Delight ties back to our core strategy of being the first to bring bold and unexpected flavors that are at the forefront of hot restaurant trends to a quick service menu,” said Carl’s Jr. Senior VP of Brand Marketing, Patty Trevino. “From our early introduction into plant-based options to bringing the rare indulgence of truffles to our menu with the new Bacon Truffle Angus Burger, our customers have come to expect innovative and unique menu offerings.”

Trevino says that they are excited to become the first quick-service restaurant to be experimenting with CBD options.

The Rocky Mountain High: Cheeseburger will be available for $4.20 at the Carl’s Jr. restaurant located at 4050 Colorado Blvd. in Denver Colorado beginning at 6:00 a.m. until the store closes or while supplies last.
