On June 15, Denver police officers conducted a sting operation involving My 420 Tours and Colorado Cannabis Tours, two marijuana party bus companies that allow customers to consume THC products while they ride between various destinations which include local dispensaries.

According to the Denver Post, twenty-seven customers were given public consumption charges which they settled with low-level citations. The tour companies covered the legal fees and travel expenses of the customers who were caught up in the sting, the majority of whom were tourists.

But while the ordeal is now over for the passengers, and the tour bus companies continue to operate facing no legal consequences, four employees have agreed to go to trial for criminal charges of unlawful acts and violating the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act.

The driver was also charged with driving under the influence.

“We’ve been working diligently to come to kind of an amicable resolution with the city,” My 420 Tours CEO Danny Schaefer told the Denver Post. “Unfortunately, they’re taking a hard-line stance on just our segment of the space, straight across the board.”

So far, there hasn’t been any further action by law enforcement to interfere with the cannabis tour companies’ daily operations.
