With the ever-increasing number of cannabidiol (CBD) products that are being made available to the public, it was only a matter of time before CBD-infused sunscreen products began making their way out into the market.
San Diego-based Medical Marijuana Inc. announced on Friday that their subsidiary Dixie Botanicals has partnered with Surface Products Corp. to produce a new hemp-derived CBD sunscreen for active, fitness-minded consumers.
“Dixie Botanicals is a brand that is closely aligned with our consumer base and our goal of providing the highest-quality products on the market,” says Surface Products founder Guy Trotter. “We’ve been working with many professional athletes for several years now, and we believe that adding CBD to our products will provide them with a great added value and, potentially wellness benefits.”
Trotter says that it’s nice to work with a consumer-driven company that understands what it means to put the customer’s needs first.
A veteran of the surf industry with a longtime familiarity with the action sports lifestyle, Trotter started Surface Products in 2012 after seeing a need for a durable sunscreen that could be worn comfortably.
Each 4 oz tube of + Surface sunscreen has an SPF50 rating, is infused with 100 mg of hemp-derived CBD isolate, and is designed to resist water up to 80 minutes.
The new sunscreen is available for retail consumers at Sun Diego, Bartell Drugs, and the Dixie Botanicals website, and wholesalers via hempmeds.com.
