Dollar General To Carry CBD Products In Select States

As a growing number of major mainstream merchants in the United States, such as Walgreens, American Eagle Outfitters, and Kroger, have announced their decision to stock their shelves with a wide selection of cannabidiol (CBD) products, discount variety store Dollar General can now be added to the list.

On Tuesday, Dollar General announced that around 20 CBD product SKUs would be available at approximately 1,100 stores in Tennessee and Kentucky.

“At Dollar General, the customer is at the center of all we do, and the addition of CBD items is an extension of our ongoing commitment to provide customers with a curated and affordable assortment of the products they seek,” says Dollar General Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer Jason Reiser. “As with many of the products we carry in our stores, our decision to offer CBD products is based on customer interests or demands.”

The selection of CBD products that Dollar General will carry includes creams, face masks, ointments, bath bombs, and bath salts.

According to the company, it has no plans at this time to stock and sell ingestible or edible CBD products.

Dollar General plans to expand the availability of CBD products at its stores in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas by the Spring of 2020.
