The Cow Palace in Daly City, California has been the the most popular venue for HempCon shows over the past decade.
But anywhere that a HempCon show has taken place in the past, a doctor’s recommendation has always been required for entrance.
For anyone who might have shown up to HempCon without the required document, would have been able to acquire one at the event.
But a doctor’s recommendation is no longer required for the weekend cannabis event as organizers have launched their first show under Prop 64 rules.
The new show is for adults over the age of 21.
At 3:00 pm on Friday, customers began streaming into the event, perusing vendor booths and freely consuming cannabis.
A variety of companies are on hand for the weekend event, offering a selection of cannabis flowers, concentrates, tinctures, edibles, clothing, and accessories from companies like Jahnetics and Space Monkey Meds.
The daily cannabis giveaways from the stage and free dabs and edible samples at vendor booths that have been a staple of HempCon in the past are not part of this weekend’s event due to Prop 64 rules that prevent canabis gifting.
But while free cannabis won’t be given away at HempCon, host Medicinal Mike will be onstage throughout the event to toss out other cannabis-related items to attendees.
HempCon ends Sunday evening at 7.
