A Latin American medical cannabis consumer packaged goods company is launching a campaign to improve safe access to cannabinoid-based medicines and consultations.
On Tuesday, May 25, Khiron Life Sciences Corp. announced the “Cannabis: Medicine for Your Life” campaign in partnership with the Colombia Cancer League and 21 leading medical institutions in 11 Colombian cities.
Physicians partnered with the campaign will donate more than 3,000 patient consultations for chronic pain, palliative care, and oncology patients who seek to manage chemotherapy-related symptoms.
According to Khiron, consultations will be provided through teleconsultation channels and in-person visits.
“We are very excited to be partnering with some of the country’s leading specialized medical institutions to increase awareness and provide safe access to patients seeking different types of treatment,” says Khiron Director and CEO Alvaro Torres. “As more external health care providers complete our medical cannabis education program, physician engagement and willingness to prescribe continues to improve. Providing greater access to the more than two million patients that suffer from chronic pain in Colombia.”
Torres says the company plans to expand the reach of the campaigns to include additional pathologies and more countries throughout the region.
Patients who would like to schedule a consultation may do so online or over the phone at +57 333 0333191.
A leading provider of medical cannabis in Colombia, Khiron has filled more than 18,000 prescriptions to date.
