Local authorities raided and shuttered an unlicensed East County dispensary on Thursday, confiscating inventory and citing employees.
At around 10 a.m., code compliance officers and deputies with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department served an abatement warrant at the Sweetwater Greens dispensary on Sweetwater Springs Blvd. in Spring Valley.
Officers confiscated an undisclosed amount of cannabis products, paraphernalia, business equipment, and cash during the operation and cited and released two employees of the business.
In a video posted to YouTube by OnScene TV, deputies also appear to have confiscated at least one firearm in addition to the numerous cardboard boxes and large ULine paper lawn bags that they can be seen carrying out of the building and loading into a van.
Candid Chronicle reached out to Sweetwater Greens and Sgt Cook for comment though no response was received at time of publication.
In March 2017, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors banned cannabis businesses in all unincorporated communities. Since then, numerous dispensaries have been raided and shut down, including Gas House and OG Holistic on Troy Street, and The Bakery on Birch Street.
One dispensary in El Cajon and another in Ramona managed to obtain waivers that allow them to operate for another five years before they are required to close.
