A Utah woman is in jail and facing felony and misdemeanor charges after she reportedly gave juveniles marijuana in exchange for a ride to Taco Bell and paid for their food with counterfeit money.
On Wednesday, employees at a Taco Bell in St. George, Utah contacted police after they received a counterfeit $100 bill during a drive-thru window transaction.
The manager of the restaurant provided police with a description which officers used to quickly locate the vehicle a few blocks away at 1000 East Tabernacle Street and pull the driver over.
During the traffic stop, officers discovered cannabis and paraphernalia inside the vehicle which they cited the adult male driver, Frank Forsyth, for and released him. Police gave two teen females riding in the car the same charges and referred them to juvenile justice court.
In the course of the investigation, police learned from the girls that 41-year-old Tasha Jennings had allegedly given them marijuana in exchange for a ride to Taco Bell and told them she was buying their meals.
Officers soon found and arrested Jennings nearby at the One & Only bar on St. George Boulevard before delivering her to the Purgatory Correctional Facility where she is being held on $5,000 bail.
According to St. George News, the woman is facing one third-degree felony count of possessing a forgery device, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of marijuana possession, and one count of paraphernalia possession.
Jennings appeared in court Friday to hear charges and currently remains in custody, with her next appearance scheduled for December 3.
