A lieutenant with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was arrested Monday and is possibly facing drug charges after someone allegedly discovered a cannabis oil extractor at the fire station where he works.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Rescue Station 26 on Thonotosassa Road in Plant City, Florida after receiving reports of an extraction device in operation there.

When deputies inspected the machine, they found that it was in the process of extracting oil from two cannabis plants.

According to a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Lieutenant Tavoris Allen admitted to owning the extractor and the cannabis and was arrested at around 3:15 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

As of Monday evening, Lieutenant Allen was not listed in the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Jail Management System and his employment status with Country Fire and Rescue is currently unknown.
