Most Cannabis Users Would Get High With A Grandparent

The majority of cannabis users would get high with a grandparent, according to the results of a new survey.

According to the survey, the number is 60 percent.

New York-based Azuca today released the results of its ‘Americans and Cannabis Consumption Survey,’ which examined cannabis consumer behavior and habits as legalization spreads across the country.

According to Azuca, the survey covered important questions such as consuming cannabis at work, the future of pain management, and which form of cannabis consumers prefer.

Edible Popularity

Azuca says survey results showed that more than half of cannabis consumers preferred edibles over vaping or smoking.

Fifty-three percent of respondents indicated an increase in edible consumption during the pandemic, and fifty-four percent said they wished the edible effects had a quicker onset time.

Nearly two-thirds (62 percent) indicated a preference for edibles with no cannabis taste.

“The ‘Americans and Cannabis Consumption Survey’ confirmed what our team at Azuva has believed for years: edibles are the future of the cannabis industry,” says Azuca President and CEO Kim Sanchez Rael. “The survey also reveals there is still a need to educate Americans about cannabis. While consumer demand is growing exponentially, now is the time to bring sophisticated and approachable products to market that people can trust.”

The survey used a sample of 1,089 people from a variety of income levels and geographic regions in the United States.

Azuca says it weighted the survey to reflect gender and age distribution across the 18-60+ age brackets in the U.S.

According to Azuca, more than half of the respondents identified as cannabis users.

Survey Results

Survey results indicated an understanding of cannabis as 70 percent knew the difference between THC and CBD.

An additional 45 percent knew what micro-dosing was and how to do it.

Regarding cannabis and wellness, 58 percent indicated a belief in cannabis as the future of pain management, and 64 percent said they consumed cannabis for relaxation.

Additionally, 40 percent said they used cannabis for pain management, 43 percent for sleep aid, 39 percent for recreation, and 37 percent for health and wellness.

Azuca says that, even though cannabis is legal in more than 18 states, the survey revealed that half of Americans have never consumed cannabis.

Among Americans who consume cannabis, 28 percent say they use it daily, 15 percent use it monthly, 18 percent use it weekly, and 39 percent use it a few times a year.

Regarding form preference, 52 percent of consumers prefer gummies, 39 percent prefer smoking, 22 percent prefer vaporizers, 17 percent prefer beverages, 13 percent prefer topical products, and 30 percent prefer chocolates or other food types.

According to Azuca, nearly one-third of reported cannabis users believe it is acceptable to use cannabis during work hours, and 60 percent would prefer to purchase products from dispensaries, even if they are more expensive than the black market.
