Security Guard Fatally Shot At Spring Valley Dispensary

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit (SHU) has reported that a security guard has been fatally shot at a dispensary in Spring Valley, California.

On June 2, 2020 at 11:06 p.m., San Diego Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a shooting at an “illegal dispensary” located at 8721 Troy Street in Spring Valley.

When deputies arrived at the address they found an adult male with a gunshot wound, to whom they began administering first aid while the San Miguel Fire Department (SMFD) was en route to the scene.

When SMFD arrived, fire personnel attempted to perform life-saving procedures on the man.

SMFD attempts to save the man’s life were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to SHU, the man was a security guard at the dispensary.

Several males were reported to have been seen fleeing the scene after the shooting.

Deputies blocked off Troy Street between Central Avenue and Sweetwater Road after the incident, expecting to reopen the road by mid-morning.

SHU says that the motivation for the shooting is under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is currently responsible for the ongoing investigation.
